My love for Joseph Altuzarra seems to grow stronger with every collection he creates. His clean lines, and simple silhouettes intrigue me more than ever. His clothes are luxurious, but in a minimal way. Though the pieces are expensive, they have the right simplicity which allows them to be dressed up or down or mixed and matched with multiple outfits.
This past weekend, Altuzarra Spring Summer 2016 was shown at New York Fashion Week. For this collection, Joseph decided to go back to his Basque roots, showing natural whites, sun kissed tans, and light linens, all while paring each outfit with some killer high heel espadrilles (great for summer!), very resort chic.
All the pieces were fantastic, but my favorites from the show would have to be the sheer geometric embroidered pieces toward the end. The way the fabric moved was absolutely magical. I especially loved the skirt paired with the black blazer. It really makes me want to wear more blazers, does it you?
The piece that really stood out was the chocolate crocodile coat! I’m already predicting to see this coat in multiple spring/summer editorials. If, however it is not used, I will be extremely disappointed.
Models were also seen toting those ever so coveted Gihanda Knot bags. Which by the way, are currently available for purchase (click the link). I love the woven shoulder straps, that is possibly the best feature of the bag.
Great collection, this season Mr. Altuzarra! It was fantastic!
I hope you all enjoyed it too. Stay tuned for more runway reviews this week…
Have a great week.
