How To Wear Western This Fall

How To Wear Western This Fall // NYFW Edition

Western Wear Street Style

Today I want to show y’all how to wear western this Fall!

Let me start by saying that western wear has always sorta been in style. I mean look at Ralph Lauren, every season you see at least one model in some western accessory. But now western is getting a shining moment in the world of “trends.”

Let me start by saying that western wear has always sorta been in style. I mean look at Ralph Lauren, every season you see at least one model in some western accessory. But now western is getting a shining moment in the world of “trends.”

Last season designers were seen saddling up and wanting us to go west to explore all that western wear had to offer this fall.

Topman Plaid Suit

Being that this was going to be the fall trend, I was eager to wear something western to New York Fashion Week. I spent quite some time planning an outfit that would fit this fall trend and be a street style standout.

For this look, I wanted to keep my style at the center of the outfit all while having that western flair, so I paired a plaid suit with a denim shirt and of course western boots!

Brown Western Boots

I figured that western would be seen quite a bit outside the shows at NYFW and sure enough it was. However, I thought it would mostly be in the form of boots, but I also saw saddle inspired belts outside Zimmermann and seas of plaid outside the L’agence presentation. Also, let’s not forget the Dior Saddle bag that was at most of the shows I attended.

I feel that you can dress up or dress down this trend. For instance, I paired boots with a suit! However, as I am writing this piece, I am wearing my western boots with distressed denim and a cashmere sweater.

I hope you all enjoyed this look! Let me know how you would wear western for Fall.
