Jean Paul Gaultier’s Last Prêt-à-Porter

Last Night Marked The End Of Jean Paul Gaultier Prêt-à-Porter And The Continuation Of Haute Couture

Well I guess you could say that it is the end of an era with prêt-à-porter for Gaultier. I learned earlier this month – via Twitter – that Gaultier would discontinue his ready-to-wear. This makes me sad, but it is good to know that he will continue his haute couture and perfume lines.

Last night Jean Paul showed his final ready-to-wear show in Paris at Le Grand Rex (a cinema in the 2nd aroundisment). It was as if all of Paris came out to commemorate the designer on a very amazing RTW career. Everyone who was anyone was there, from the likes of Madonna (Jean Paul created the classic cone boob look for her) to Dita Von Tesse.

Lets take a look at what the designer had to offer for his last RTW show:

As Style.com said: “It is the end of an era, but Gaultier went out smiling like he always does. And for those who left with tears in their eyes, we’ll always have Paris in January, when he stages his next Couture show.”

So don’t be too sad! He is still here. Its not like Christian Lacroix completely ending. We will still have the couture!

I ultimately regret not buying that Gaultier striped shirt when I was in Paris. Now I will never own a Jean Paul Gaultier. Well maybe not never, but it will be much more difficult to obtain one.

Hope you enjoyed the final show. Let me know what you thought of it in the comment section below.

Sincerely,

Jack
