Who are our “Real Friends”?
Some of you may know this, and others may not, but I am a big fan of Kanye West and his music. When I saw that he introduced a pair of songs on his website the other day, I had to have a listen.
The first of the two songs is entitled “Real Friends”. Needless to say, I have not stopped listening to it. It was extremely inciting and made you want to listen to it over and over. However, after listening to it so many times, you start to break down what West is trying to express.
With all the people around him in this celebrity obsessed, too busy for anyone, and self centered world, West is in search of people who are his “Real Friends”. Not just friends who use him and his success or those who try to break his successes.
You can get a general idea of what he is trying to express in these lyrics (Explicit):
Even though the much anticipated album, Swish has not hit yet, I can already tell that this will be a new cult classic. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy will be hard to beat, but knowing West, it is possible.
The second track on this release is a snippet of “No More Parties in LA”. I can’t say to much about this, as it is a short clip, but stay tuned for my full thoughts on the piece.
I hope you enjoyed what Kanye West brought to the table today! Let me know what you think of it.
