Nothing lasts forever…
If you are a fashion stalker, then you know that Style.com left its runway coverage position and become Vogue Runway. Through this change, Style.com is now a new shopping website come 2016, also Style.com favorite, Tommy Ton, left his post as street style photographer. For the past eight years, he has shot for Style.com, GQ, and his own blog Jak & Jil. Now that his contract is up and things are changing, he has deiced to focus on his independent voice, thus launched his new website Tommyton.com.
I recommend you go an look at his website, as his photography is incredible. Not only that, but users can now sort through the 15,000+ images by colour, brand, trend and subject. “I thought it was really important, from a fashion nerd’s perspective, to be able to look back and view all these images I’ve taken in one place, and for it to be categorised down to every detail,” Ton says. (Business of Fashion). Ton has been busy working on the new site since last year, which just happened to launch right when he broke from Condé Nast. Though it is unfortunate that he has left his position, it is nice to see a bit of change within the fashion world. A new photographer maybe good, but I don’t believe that anyone can do what he did for Style.com.
Tommy Ton is different from all the other “street style” photographers in the business. The way he captures an image is unlike any other. I mean, he basically pioneered what the term street style photography means to us. His way of capturing a photo is raw, thus never making an image feel staged.

I could have added more photos, but then Tommy Ton would have had to move his site to mine. Ha!
I hope you enjoyed this post, and please go to Tommyton.com to see more photos!
Sorry for the lack of posts, as I have started CSU again. Classes are busy and now I live in an apartment! I will be posting photos of it soon. Thank you for sticking with me 🙂
I almost forgot to tell you! I just got my first invite to a New York Fashion Week show. However, I can’t attend due to my busy school schedule. Not to worry because I am sure this will be the first of many to come…stay tuned.
Have a great weekend.
